What's my size?
Two sizes, one height, and a straight answer about which one you are.
Two sizes, and that's on purpose
Dear Peony running socks come in S/M and M/L. Two sizes, not seven. A good sock stretches to cover a range, and splitting it finer mostly sells you the wrong box.
- S/M
- US women's 5.5–8
- M/L
- US women's 8.5–11
Between the two? Size down. These stretch, and a sock that sits slightly snug stays put over sixteen miles. A loose one slides into your shoe and takes the ruffle with it.
What mid-crew means
Mid-crew sits just above the ankle bone - roughly four inches up the leg. High enough to clear a shoe collar so nothing rubs, low enough that it doesn't read as a tube sock. The ruffle sits at the top of that, which is where you can see it.
- Mid-crew height
- About 4 in / 10 cm above the ankle
How to check, if you want to be sure
Stand on a piece of paper, mark the back of your heel and the tip of your longest toe, and measure between the marks. Do it late in the day - feet swell, and the sock has to fit the foot you run on, not the one you wake up with.
A note on fit
These are cut for a woman's foot: a narrower heel and a shorter arch band than a unisex sock of the same length. If you have worn unisex socks that bunch at the heel, that is the difference you will notice first.
