Questions, answered plainly

The things people actually ask.

When can I buy a pair?

Soon, not yet. Our testers are still putting the first color through its miles, and we'd rather open late than open wrong. The Garden Club gets the date first.

What sizes do you make?

Two: S/M (US women's 5.5–8) and M/L (US women's 8.5–11), both mid-crew. Between the two, size down. The size guide has the rest.

Will a color come back?

Usually not. Each Bloom is one small run. Its page stays up afterwards with the date it opened.

Now and then a color gets a second run, usually because we plainly made too few. We can't say which or when, because we don't know either. A second run gets its own date; it doesn't pretend to be the first.

Greenhouse colors are different: they stay all year and always come back.

What's a stem?

One pair of socks. We count them the way a florist counts flowers: a single pair is a stem, and three or more make a Bouquet.

What are they made of?

A synthetic performance blend, the kind of fiber running socks have used for years, picked because it handles sweat and keeps its shape.

The exact fiber percentages and country of origin will be on every product page and on the label.

Does the ruffle survive the wash?

Yes. It's knit into the cuff, not sewn on, so there's nothing to come loose, and it's fine in the dryer on low. Wash cool with like colors and skip the fabric softener. It coats performance fiber and makes it worse at its one job.

How much is shipping?

Nothing, anywhere in the continental US. Shipping is included on every order there, whatever the size. Alaska, Hawaii, US territories and military addresses are $5 flat.

What if they don't fit?

Tell us within 30 days and we'll sort it out. Sock sizing is easy to get wrong, and we'd rather swap a pair than leave you with a box you can't use.

What is the Garden Club?

Our email list. Members hear the morning a Bloom opens, which matters because Blooms are small runs and the popular sizes go first. There's no secret early door, just earlier word.

Who makes these?

Dear Peony is a small brand with a short list of collaborators. A specialist sock mill knits the socks; the colors, the ruffle and the words are ours.
